About PhotoSize

PhotoSize is a free tool by DanixSoft, a software studio in Lahore. It resizes a photo or signature to the size an online application asks for, without uploading it.

How it hits a KB limit

The image is drawn at exactly the width and height you enter. It is then saved as JPG at several quality levels, and the best one that is at or under your maximum is kept. A KB is counted as 1,000 bytes, the smaller of the two common meanings, so the file passes either way.

How sizes are converted

Millimetres, centimetres and inches are converted to pixels at the DPI you set (pixels = inches × DPI; 25.4 mm per inch). The DPI is written into the JPG header so printers use the right physical size.

Form presets

The quick sizes on this site are common sizes, not any organisation’s official rule. We will add presets for specific forms (for example a public service commission) only after checking the rule on the official page, with the link and the date we checked. Until then, use the size printed in your own advertisement.
